Basic Job Functions:

The District Sales Manager serves to establish and maintain profitable customer relationships to develop a steady flow of order inquiries. Responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain strong sales relationships with current and prospective customers.
  • Manage performance of the district sales force, including analysis and recommendations to improve sales performance, including travel awareness, encouraging quote follow up, and interactions that broaden and deepen relationships.
  • Oversee and manage district office sales support, including involvement in hiring decisions, as well as overall knowledge/validation of ERP data as tied with business, as well as order management, and vendor invoice/payment management.
  • Awareness of the district’s annual budget, monitoring SG&A, challenging team to be cost conscious
  • Cultivate relationships between district sales office and other Skyline business units – GEO, Business Development, Corporate, Operations, etc.
  • Responsible for A/R, collections and DSO.
  • Market awareness and entrepreneurial vision within the district, ability and willingness to gather and communicate market information across Skyline Steel, including fellow DSMs, Management Team, Operations and the rest of the Sales Force.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years sales experience in construction industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, Marketing, Management or related field
  • Strong verbal communications skills and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or equivalent technology
  • Available to travel (extensive travel is required)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years sales experience in steel industry
