Heat Treat District Technical Sales Manager

Basic Job Functions:

BASIC FUNCTIONS: 

Provide technical support to mills with heat treat capabilities and help drive sales with supporting District Sales Managers and Plant Sales Managers with identifying potential new customers or existing customers that purchase heat treated product that is within the capabilities of the heat treating facility at each mill. 

1.    Serve as a technical resource for District Sales Managers and District Technical Sales Managers with quoting new products that require heat treating.   
2.    Meet with technical teams at customers that purchase heat treated bars to establish relationships. 
3.    Work closely with heat treat personnel at mills to optimize heat treating operation for improved efficiency and quality. Also work with mill teams to optimize chemistry for heat treating.
4.    Develop heat treat capabilities/data that can be shared with customers to drive better heat treat properties or better heat treat quality.  
5.    Support all claim activities or customer problems with respect to heat treated bar problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

​​​​​​•    Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering/Material Science 
•    4 years minimum experience in steel bar heat treated metallurgical role 
•    Supervisor/Manager recommendation.

•    Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future.  
 

Preferences:

  • Steel product experience (4 years or more), preferably in the SBQ industry.
