Basic Job Functions:
The role of a Nucor Marion Electrician is to work with the maintenance and operations teams to achieve the safest, most efficient and most cost effective means of operation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading production equipment, process improvement, and operations support. Must be flexible to work rotating shifts and weekends as required.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Demonstrated commitment to Safety, Quality and Profitability
• Two year electrical technical degree or a clear demonstration of electrical technical ability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four year technical degree
- Steel mill with Melt Shop and/or Roll Mill experience
- Extensive AC & DC motors and drives experience
- Knowledge and experience with Power systems maintenance
- PLC systems building, programming, and troubleshooting experience
- Good mechanical, hydraulic and process knowledge
