Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Tubular Products Madison is seeking a teammate who is committed to taking care of our customers. This successful candidate will be safety-minded, goal oriented, and cost and quality-driven.

   This position is responsible for operating advanced measurement equipment (FARO Arm) and as a Quality Lead.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong commitment to Safety and Quality in all aspects
  • Able to interpret part drawings (including GD&T callouts) to define measurement process and gages needed
  • Perform layouts including but not limited to PPAP verifications, First Article Inspections, capability studies, etc.
  • Build dimensional & inspection reports that are clear, concise
  • Set up and execute measurement studies including Gage R&R
  • Assist with part drawing reviews to ensure designs can be properly evaluated using metrology tools/gages
  • Ability to fully program and operate advanced measurement equipment (FARO Arm)
  • Open & download Poly Works Engineering files for measurement in Faro program through E-Drawing program
  • CAD: CATIA or 3D CAD knowledge
  • Apply statistical tools as appropriate/required
  • Leads, assigns and/or performs activities to ensure performance expectations are met with the highest level of quality, perform as a Quality Technician during periods of lower metrology demand
  • Collaborates with the QA team and other department leaders on quality related issues, provides recommendations for improvement and drives the corrective actions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma
  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, height gage, etc.
  • Relevant Quality (FARO Arm) experience of 3 – 5 years
  • Communicate in a timely and effective manner (verbally and in writing) across the organization
  • College courses pertaining to requirements of the position
