Woodshop Saw Operator

Basic Job Functions:
- Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Work from shop orders, and instructions. Determine requirements from work orders and able to read tape measure.
- Cut and groove end dams, rails, splines, spacers, and similar items to specified dimensions.
- Change over, adjust, and operate single and multiple head table saws, band saws, planers, and similar equipment.
- Make pallets and crates to suit requirements for shipping panel accessories to customers.
- Store material stock and completed supply pieces. Operate forklift truck to move materials and supplies in and between work areas.
- Perform preventative maintenance or inspections. Notify supervisor of unusual equipment or operating problems.
- Perform or assist with any operations, as required, or directed to maintain workflow or respond to emergency conditions.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Range of motion includes squatting, bending, reaching, and climbing.
- Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition. Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Tools and equipment used: Power saws, tape measure, angles, air nail and staple guns, hand tools and forklift truck.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1 year operator experience utilizing various saws
- Able to operate a forklift
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience working with various hand tools
