Basic Job Functions:

  • Provide technical services on questions related to the best application of NIPG products
  • Prepare and maintain complete detail standards and installation manuals for NIPG products.
  • Review requests and design new custom project specific detail drawings for non-standard product applications to support in-house detailing, external customers, as well as pre-sale support.
  • Assist architects and or field personnel in proper product applications via development of installation drawings and General note drawings.
  • Construct product application details to aid in design assist projects.
  • Assist with training for new and existing dealers, and NIPG teammates.
  • Provide NIPG sales team with updates on potential projects based on architectural inquiries.
  • Design and prepare new extrusions and die drawings.
  • Promote the use of NIPG products by guiding dealers and architects to correct product applications means and methods.
  • Will support all NIPG brand products

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • Previous drafting and design experience
  • Able to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
  • Understanding of building science & construction.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent math and reading skills.
  • Understanding of AutoCAD version of 2015 or higher.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and other 3D software - helpful.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software.
  • Understand extrusion design and development process.
  • Willingness to gain detail knowledge of all NIPG product applications and limitations. As well as their fabrication and installation techniques.
  • Willing to travel as needed to NIPG manufacturing facilities and project sites.
