MATERIAL RECEIVER

Basic Job Functions:

Responsibilities for the Material Receiver include but are not limited to:

  • Capable of working safely at all times.
  • Participates in the receiving process of all raw materials and warehouse parts as prescribed by the Purchasing department.
  • Operates cranes and mobile equipment with a world class expectation and a high degree of accountability.
  • Understands the usage of measuring equipment – scales, gauges, calipers and tape measures.
  • Operates in a fast pace environment participating in inventory related processes including: FIFO, housekeeping, material staging, and cycle counts of quantities large and small.
  • Identify process improvements that will result in efficiency and cost savings.
  • Contributes to a team atmosphere and a productive work environment.
  • Ensure productivity with clean, safe work areas that maintain compliance with established company, corporate, state, local, and federal regulations.
  • Oversee special projects as assigned by the Production Manager or Group Leader.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:
