Basic Job Functions:

Lead day to day operations of the HR team, which includes the division receptionist. Lead the Hiring process, working collaboratively with department leadership teams, using Nucor prescribed tools, processes, and documentation standards, including administration of pre-employment assessments and providing orientation for new teammates. Affirmative Action plan development and timely reporting. Administer benefits, including Open Enrollment and FMLA. Facilitate new hire testing, orientation, discipline, and termination processes. Adhere to and maintain systems of internal control for HR and payroll. Ensure division compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws. Process all unemployment claims including handling appeals, as necessary. Manage employee and spousal education reimbursements and dependent student scholarship program for the division. Perform other Payroll and HR related duties as needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of four years human resource experience or comparable education.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
  • Experience in administering FMLA, short and long term disability.
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors.
