Basic Job Functions:

Responsibilities for the Receiving Group Leader include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for overseeing the receiving process of all raw materials and warehouse parts as prescribed by the purchasing department.
  • Lead crane | mobile equipment discussions and safety training for the division. Maintain the highest degree of accountability for crane | mobile equipment procedures.
  • Willing and able to manage all aspects of a rotating inventory including: housekeeping, material staging, cycle counts and FIFO.
  • Collaborate work schedule and staffing needs with Supervisors and Group Leaders, in the plant, to assist in a continuous flow through the entire shop.
  • Identify process improvements that will result in efficiency and cost savings.
  • Demonstrates leadership through solid teamwork and a productive work environment.
  • Interview, hire, develop, and coach new teammates.
  • Ensure productivity with clean, safe work areas that maintain compliance with established company, corporate, state, local, and federal regulations.
  • Understand and convey NUCOR’s mission statement.
  • Provide concise and organized recommendations for corrective action when necessary.
  • Oversee special projects as assigned by the Production Manager or Production Leadership.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Able to communicate a clear safety vision.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
