Basic Job Functions:

  • Coordinate, oversee, and execute proper procurement strategies.
  • Develop vendor relationships to drive financial success for the division.
  • Point of contact for the purchase of standard and non-standard material.
  • Coordinate with Engineering to determine and meet mill rolling schedules.
  • Work with Customer Service to determine lead times to ensure buyout materials arrive to the plant or jobsite on time to meet committed schedule.
  • Work with Customer Service, Engineering, Detailing, and Production to ensure the correct materials are requisitioned in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with Shipping Coordinator and vendors on direct ship items including their billing and delivery.
  • Assist with managing proper inventory levels and facilitate cycle counts.
  • Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing end-of-month input and reconciliation, and backing up other Purchasing teammates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two years of experience in purchasing or inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word documents.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of metal building components.
  • Experience in purchasing or inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Purchasing, or Supply Chain.
