Network Engineer - WAN/VoIP

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Business Technology (NBT), the combined team of Steelmaking Group Services (SMG), Digital Solutions, and Enterprise IT (ENT), is seeking qualified applicants for the position of NBT Network Engineer – WAN\VoIP.  Individuals who meet the minimum qualifications and are interested in this opportunity should upload a resume when applying online. This is a fulltime, permanent position with the Nucor Business Technology team.

The role of the NBT Network Engineer –WAN\VoIP is to provide support for systems that cover the scope of the entire Nucor network.  This includes systems that cross multiple divisions and product groups such as WAN and VoIP. 

The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

1. Working with other NBT teams to meet security and performance standards where applicable.
2. Responsible for implementing and supporting the enterprise level VoIP systems and WAN connectivity according to Nucor governance.
3. Ability to travel as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Three years of technical experience supporting VoIP or WAN systems that are of an enterprise scope and of complex nature.

• Excellent attention to detail with strong organization skills 
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to work effectively with users in remote locations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to contribute effectively in a team environment
• Proven ability to work in a self-motivated task orientated environment with tight deadlines
• Demonstrated history of proactively taking initiative and seeking responsibility
