Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Power Systems Engineer consists of, but is not limited to, coordinate both short and long term strategies to provide power system reliability, assist with recovery and root cause analysis of major events and coordinate corrective actions and best practices, assist in education and training of plant personnel, coordinate specifications for major equipment purchases, maintain database of major electrical equipment, and facilitate power engineering related communication, use power system analysis software and predictive maintenance tools/methods to monitor electrical power equipment, improve electrical power system reliability and determine optimum utilization of electrical power equipment, ensure that all power system drawings are up to date and maintain records for protective relay settings and programming of control schemes, ensure that our electrical power system installations are in compliance with all electrical codes and standards.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Negotiation and Project management experience

2. Switchgear upgrade, installation, and commissioning experience

3. Three years of power engineering and/or power systems maintenance experience.

4. Advanced understanding of NFPA 70E

5. BS degree in electrical engineering
