Basic Job Functions:

Applications are currently being accepted for the position of Construction Solutions Services Manager of Tubular Products.  This position will report to the Director – Construction Solutions Services (CSS). This position will manage technical and marketing strategy and tactics, as directed, to positively influence the use of tubular steel in the marketplace, specifically as it relates to Nucor’s product offerings. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1.    Develop strategic relationships in the architecture, engineering, contractor and owner communities to influence the use of tubular steel products while managing the granular activities in the field that CSS teammates execute locally.
2.    Speak on a national stage and at local levels as a trusted authority on tubular design and construction marketplace expertise.
3.    Lead the efforts of tubular growth via both participation and thru leadership positions in trade associations (STINA, AISC, AISI, others) as Nucor’s position as a dominate marketplace supplier with technical and marketing prowess.
4.    Collaborate with the steel fabrication customer base to grow our role as direct supplier for their project needs versus the dominant path of service center procurement.
5.    Build on our existing partnerships with distinguished OEM customers and identify growth markets and customers as we expand to enhanced structural solutions for solar and heavy equipment end markets.
6.    Develop technical solutions for unique project challenges utilizing the latest tubular innovations in the marketplace.
7.    Leverage cohesive collaboration between the tubular division and the enterprise for competitive pricing collaboration in the conceptual phase of business development and possible cross-divisional approached to enhanced solution offerings.
8.    Identify future trends and opportunities for growth in market sectors and individual product offerings to enhance the value that Nucor tubular products delivers to the marketplace.
9.    Leverage CRM to quantify and measure all activities executed to assess long-term success and viability of efforts for both technical and market promotion to key decision makers.
10.    Leverage full marketing communications tools to manage the execution of a full email/web/video/social media campaign to targeted decision makers to tubular products.
11.    Develop internal relationships within the Nucor enterprise to continue to diversify into opportunities where tubular can provide added value in new divisions, markets, and customers.
12.    Gather and communicate competitive information for forecasting purposes in the tubular marketplace.

This position will require travel as necessary.


Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

1.    Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required.  
2.    Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience in steel design or construction.  
3.    Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Structural Engineer (SE) license required.

Preferred Qualifications:

1.    Experience with the construction market and its customers; with a focus on engineering, architects and building owners.
2.    Experience with CRM solutions as a tool to both manage and measure program success both short and long term.
3.    Master’s degree
