Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Customer Service Associate includes but is not limited to serving as the primary backup for any of the Inside Sales staff positions, responsible for some customer accounts, and handling whatever aspect of the commercial team is needed. This teammate will work with the inside sales, outside sales, production, shipping, and finance teams to serve our customers in the flat rolled industry. The associated tasks may include entering accurate orders, proactive problem solving, working with the scheduler to manage production efficiently, and effective communications between the customer and operations, shipping, credit, and metallurgy to handle whatever aspect involved with the customer.  The Customer Service Associate may be required to travel overnight as needed.  Prior experience in the flat rolled industry is not necessary; we will support new teammates with all relevant training to support their professional development. Able to work scheduled/unscheduled overtime.  Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Four-year Bachelor’s degree (Business, Marketing, or related study)  

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 2- years of Customer Service experience
  2. Flat Rolled Steel knowledge
