Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Environmental Coordinator is to support the environmental compliance effort at Nucor-Yamato Steel. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to managing the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System; interpretation of environmental regulations; implementation and operation of environmental programs; maintaining compliance with all environmental regulations; assist in permit management and renewal; building relationships with environmental regulators and industry groups; overseeing internal and external audits; waste management; environmental reporting; emergency response; developing and conducting training; facilitating community outreach programs.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

ISO Management System or Environmental experience, preferably in an industrial setting

Environmental -- Promotes environmental stewardship while maintaining compliance in all areas of the site though conformance with Nucor's environmental program. This includes reviewing and implementing environmental technical standards and policies.

Project Management – Leverage knowledge to provide guidance and leadership to project teams and establish project steps, milestones, and timetables including analyzing feasibility, costs, and compatibility with existing programs and systems.

Preferences:

B.S. or B.A. Degree in Engineering, Environmental or related field.

Experience with regulatory compliance and permitting.
