Basic Job Functions:

BASIC FUNCTIONS: 
UIG is currently seeking CAD Design Manager to provide direction and management for the design team and to be responsible for the coordination and completion of the detailed CAD design, 3D CAD model, and drafting required to support the successful design of industrial gas plants on time and within budget. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

•    Responsible for the design department operations covering hiring, training, developing, appraising staff, taking corrective actions as necessary
•    Setting goals and priorities for improving the skills and design capabilities. Monitoring the performance of the department, and making recommendations for improvements 
•    Setting goals and priorities on simultaneously executed projects
•    Responsible for the technical and supervisory aspects of the design department
•    Responsible for the team’s technical expertise, manpower loading of projects, and the department staffing
•    Responsible for the daily coordination and oversight of UIG and 3rd party designers’ work during all phases of the project
•    Check and ensuring design and drawings of other designers are clear, accurate and in compliance with industry codes, standards and project specifications. 
•    Create 2D drawings and 3D model associated with industrial gases plant such as, plant and equipment layout, skids, tanks, piping and isometric drawings, pipe racks, structural steel, foundations, plot plans, general arrangement, assembly drawings, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), bill of materials, Tie-in lists, line lists, sketches, etc. using AutoCAD (2D & 3D CAD Software) in accordance with industry and company standards 
•    Create and host a cloud-based 3D model, troubleshooting any issues related to the model 
•    Facilitate 30%, 60%, 90% design reviews and constructability design reviews
•    Review vendor drawings as relating to 2D and 3D designs
•    Interpret Engineering deliverables such as mechanical equipment drawings, pipe specifications, instrument datasheets, and pipe stress analysis reports in the preparation of design deliverables
•    Coordinate effectively with all disciplines in issues related to design effort and prepare and manage design schedule and budget for projects
•    Enforce and coordinate design requirements with internal and external project stakeholders to ensure compliance with company design standards
•    Oversee the distribution of design information for various end users, upon request
•    Participate in internal and external project meetings to develop project requirements, define delivery schedules, review design, and report progress
•    Conduct field assessments and gather data required to produce as-built documentation
•    Support proposal activities and provide cost estimates
•    develop department procedures, best practices, processes, tools, and design standards

Minimum Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1-    Associate or Bachelor’s degree in drafting/AEC technology, or related field  
2-    Fifteen to Twenty-Five years of advanced experience in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and AutoCAD 3D of industrial equipment in an engineering company 
3-    Must have experience in implementing CAD applications 
4-    Ability to review, validate and check other designers work for compliance to codes, project specifications and industry norms
5-    Ability to perform in a management capacity
6-    Effective computer and Microsoft Office Software skills
7-    Effective communication skills both written and verbal as well as effective problem-solving skills
8-    Ability to travel up to 25% of the time (domestic and international) 
 

Preferred Qualifications:

1.    Detailed design knowledge for Air Separation Plants
2.    Experience managing design personnel
