Privacy Notice for California Resident
Job Applicants, Employees, Contractors and Agents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), job applicants, employees, contractors and agents of Nucor Corporation, and its divisions, affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively, “Company”) residing in California are afforded the right to be informed of certain data collection practices by Company.  This notice is applicable to California residents only.

1.         Categories of Personal Information.  As part of your application for employment, employment by Company, or other engagement or relationship with Company, we may collect or request certain categories of information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with you (“Personal Information”). We collect the following categories of Personal Information:

  • Personal identifiers (e.g., name, postal address, social security number, etc.);
  • Professional or employment-related information (e.g., work history);
  • Education information;
  • Characteristics of protected classifications under law (e.g., race, religion, or age);
  • Bank account number and other financial information; and
  • Biometric information (e.g., fingerprints for select employees
     

2.         Use of Personal Information.  We will use Personal Information collected for the purposes of establishing and managing your employment/contractor/agent relationship with Company, including facilitating any evaluation and onboarding process, performing background checks and work verification, facilitating external interviews or assessments, administering benefits and pay, establishing training or development requirements, conducting performance reviews, complying with applicable law, ensuring the security of our facilities and employees/contractors/agents, and other such purposes as are reasonably required by Company.  We may also use Personal Information for other operational purposes, like conducting workforce analytics or assessing our employment practices.  In connection with the foregoing, we may share Personal Information with third parties, including our service providers that perform background checks and assessments, administer payroll and benefits made available to you, provide training and development opportunities.  We may also share Personal Information with third parties as required by applicable law, including in order to remit and file payroll taxes. 

3.         Sources of Personal Information.  We collect Personal Information directly from you, or from your employer (if you are an employee of one of our service providers or customers).  We may also collect information from a third party, such as a job posting service (e.g., indeed.com) or other third parties whom you authorize to provide us with your Personal Information. 

4.         Sales of Personal Information.  We do not sell your Personal Information for a business purpose.
