Basic Job Functions:
The role of the CTL/Shipping Material Handler Utility is to meet and exceed all safety and housekeeping expectations for the area. This includes but is not limited to safely operating and performing maintenance on all area equipment, providing support to other area team members, and maintaining compliance in all areas of the site within our Quality control system. In this role, the teammate may work at the Cut-to-length Line or in Shipping. The teammate will be required to operate a crane, rail king, forklift and yard truck. Becoming proficient in these mobile equipment tasks is critical to success. Nucor teammates are expected to participate in and promote an atmosphere of cooperation and team work while maintaining compliance in all areas of the site within our Quality control system. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
