NFIN Lab Technician - 2nd, 3rd Shift

Basic Job Functions:

**Nucor Fastener has one (1) opening on 2nd shift and one (1) opening on 3rd shift. Please indicate which one you are applying for in your bid form.** 

The role of a Lab Technician includes, but is not limited to, testing product samples to ensure they are in compliance with established specifications and standards. The individual will also contribute to improvement of the Nucor Fastener Quality Management System through participation in the IATF 16949 and ISO/IEC 17025 certification programs. 

Lab testing includes product characteristics such as: dimensional, proof load, tensile properties, hardness, magnetic particle, micro-hardness, rotational capacity, tensional control assembly testing, hydrogen embrittlement testing, and others.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.    

Minimum Qualifications:

• Microsoft Office Proficient
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, and/or holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Quality Laboratory practices and related equipment.
• Post-secondary coursework in a technical field.
• Experience with a quality management system (i.e., ISO 9000, TS16949).
• PC Proficient
