1ST SHIFT SHIPPING TEAM LEADER - PRODUCTION

Basic Job Functions:

Responsibilites for the Shipping Team Leader include but not limited to: 

• Safely Operate Overhead cranes, forklifts, spot trucks, and other equipment as needed.
• Learn select different shipping / warehouse positions to the point where you can effectively cover as needed.
• Perform at a high level in communication with the production lines in order to effectively clear their outfeed lines, set up shipping loaders/checkers to be able to effectively load jobs, and be able to keep the shipping bay organized.
• Be able to understand and prioritize workload/parts in order to hit the division’s commitments to our customers
• Be mindful of and provide coaching to shipping loaders/checkers as well as the other production lines throughout the shift to drive continuous improvement in performance (safety, quality, and productivity).
• Perform tasks as directed by the Supervisor and/or Group Leader
• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Loading experience
• Experience with multiple production lines / work area’s
• Be able to obtain Forklift Certified within 6 months
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with overhead cranes
