NSD SEM Lab Technician

Basic Job Functions:

Responsible for the preparation of metal/material samples, performance of SEM and Optical analyzes, mechanical testing and the documentation of collected information and data from various departments as needed and requested.

Testing methods include but are not limited to:

• • • SEM Analysis for AFA and E45 on Melt Shop, HM, CR, and Galv Products.
    • SEM Analysis for product failure analysis, both internal and external.
    • Optical microscopy for Product Qualification, Process Investigation, Claims Investigation, Process Improvements, etc.
    • Macro-etch testing for QC approval
    • Other testing as needed

Other Responsibilities include: Maintain the SEM Lab equipment and consumables.  Maintain the cleanliness and order of the SEM Lab Area.  Develop and improve the WI and Procedures for the various tasks performed in the SEM Lab.  Assist with Met Lab mechanical testing as time permits. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
