Mill II Roll / Guide Builder

Basic Job Functions:

The Roll/ Guide Builder responsibilities will be, but not limited to the buildup, set-up, and maintenance of rolls, chocks, bearings, and other associated equipment. The Roll Guide Builder will maintain the chocks and help with minor repairs to all equipment in the area as needed (torches, cutting, and grinding, etc). The Roll Guide Builder will ensure this equipment is prepared in advance and also assist on product changeovers. The Roll/Guide Builder must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. The Roll Guide Builder must be able to meet all physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations. While this is a posting for NYS II, the successful candidate may be required and should be prepared to work at either mill depending on the schedule, workload, or needs of the mill as determined by the Supervisor. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
